Ingenuity Power Adapt Portable Swing
We designed the Ingenuity Power Adapt Portable Swing for families who need flexibility without compromising on soothing power. This swing runs on both AC adapter and batteries, so you can plug in at home and switch to battery mode when visiting grandparents or heading outdoors. The compact fold and lightweight frame fit easily in your trunk or closet.
The Power Adapt runs on household AC power when you’re home and switches seamlessly to battery mode when you need portability. We include the AC adapter in the box — just plug into any standard outlet for uninterrupted soothing during long afternoon naps or evening routines. When you’re visiting family or spending time in the backyard, pop in four D batteries and the swing operates with the same five speed settings and sound options.
Swing speeds & WhisperQuiet motion
We engineered five distinct swing speeds so you can match the motion to your baby’s mood. Speed one delivers a gentle arc for drowsy newborns who startle easily, while speed five offers the fuller movement that some babies crave during fussy periods. The dial on the control panel lets you adjust on the fly — no need to stop the swing or unbuckle your baby.
WhisperQuiet Technology
Our WhisperQuiet motor keeps the swing nearly silent, even at higher speeds. You won’t hear the grinding or humming that older swing motors produce, which means you can use the swing in the same room where you’re working, reading, or watching TV without distraction. The quiet operation also helps babies stay asleep longer, since there’s no mechanical noise to pull them out of light sleep cycles.
Compact fold & travel-ready frame
The Power Adapt folds in seconds with a simple lift-and-collapse motion. The folded dimensions fit into most car trunks, and the lightweight steel frame makes it easy to carry from room to room or load into your vehicle. We added a carry handle on the top bar so you can grab the swing with one hand while managing a diaper bag or baby carrier in the other.
When folded, the swing stands upright in a closet or against a wall, taking up minimal floor space. Many families use this swing as their primary soothing tool at home and their travel swing for weekends away — the dual-power capability and compact fold eliminate the need to buy a separate portable model. If you’re planning extended trips or want to set up a second nursery at a grandparent’s home, our swing selection guide walks through weight limits, space requirements, and feature differences across our full collection.

Questions about the Power Adapt Portable Swing
Yes, the Power Adapt runs on both AC power and batteries. We include the AC adapter in the box for home use. The swing also operates on four D batteries (sold separately) for portable use when you’re away from an outlet. You can switch between power sources anytime without affecting swing performance or speed settings.
The Power Adapt supports babies up to 20 pounds or until your baby attempts to climb out of the seat. Most families use the swing from birth through around five to six months, though the exact timeline varies based on your baby’s size and mobility. Always use the three-point harness and discontinue use once your baby can sit up unassisted or tries to climb out.
The seat pad and head support insert are both machine washable. Unzip the pad from the seat frame, remove the head support, and wash both pieces on a gentle cycle in cold water. Air dry flat to maintain shape and fabric integrity. Avoid bleach or fabric softeners, which can break down the material over time.
No, the Power Adapt uses WhisperQuiet technology to keep motor noise minimal at all five speed settings. You can use the swing in the same room where you’re working, watching TV, or sleeping without hearing mechanical grinding or humming. The quiet operation also helps babies stay asleep longer by eliminating distracting background noise.
Yes, the swing folds quickly with a lift-and-collapse motion and includes a carry handle on the top frame. When folded, it fits in most car trunks and can stand upright in a closet or against a wall. The lightweight steel frame makes it easy to transport between rooms or take on trips to family and friends.
Yes, the sound feature is completely optional. You can turn the volume dial all the way down to run the swing with motion only, or you can select from six melodies and three nature sounds at any volume level. The independent controls for swing speed and sound let you customize the experience based on what your baby responds to best.
The Power Adapt requires four D batteries for portable operation. Batteries are not included with the swing, so you’ll need to purchase them separately if you plan to use battery mode. We recommend keeping spare batteries on hand for travel or emergency backup when AC power isn’t available.
